Hailing from Sindh, Pakistan, Muhammad Mustafa Rashid has earned a reputable name in the US as a scholar of Philosophy, Economics, and Business Administration. It is his unique insight into diverse subjects ranging from Philosophy to Economics in the social sciences and Business Administration to in Business & Management and his dedicative, diligent research that he has the privilege to be included in Marquis Who’s Who, a platform that includes profiles on the basis of visibility, a current reference value and net worthy accomplishments.
Due to the unstable education system coupled with fewer universities that don’t provide many specializations options and the least number of employment opportunities, Pakistani students are the ones when it comes to moving abroad in search of a career. Out of millions of students the world over, they are the ones who prevail when it comes to securing admissions abroad. Muhammad Mustafa Rashid, who among others, due to his distinctive approach and interest in Philosophy, gained the support of his teachers at St. Patrick’s High School, who nourished his interests and helped him to become what he is now.
After his advance Level Cambridge Examination at Foundation Public School Karachi, he moved to the US for further studies. He completed his transfer course work from Berkeley City College relying on federal loans and grants, and was awarded full scholarship at University of California Davis.
As most third-world students lack economic support in the US, Rashid fought tooth and nail to carry on his education. He supported his family as well as himself while doing odd jobs. Now, fortunately, he has achieved what he was aspiring for: a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of California Davis and a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from the University of Detroit Mercy. Presently, he is pursuing Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy, where he has been a graduate teaching and research assistance since 2018.
He is thought to be a Ford scholar and a King Chavez Parks Scholar and has a lifetime membership of the International Association of Jesuit Business Schools, St. Ignatius Chapter and Alpha Iota Delta, Delta Mu Chapter. He is also an established economist as certified by the Global Academy of Finance and Management and is a designated Fellow. He has been writing for professional journals, including the Journal of Advanced Studies in Finance, Journal of Advanced Studies in Management, Journal of Economics and Political Economy and is currently working towards his MBA and research projects with Jesuit Universities.
In order to keep up with the emerging developments in the field of Philosophy and Economics, he has attached himself to different organizations like the Royal Institute of Philosophy, the American Philosophical Association, and the American Economic Association. In the forthcoming years, he wants to continue a dynamic and ground breaking research in the said fields.
As an economist, he has contribute to the field in part and society as a whole. In his paper, “Exploitation in a disruptive and unjust gig-economy”, he has explained at a great length how the unchecked momentum of gig economy has provided to the exploitation of employees. The foregrounding reason he offers to why it happens is that companies create for themselves new disruptive markets , and regulators are unsure of whether a certain law is applicable or not , or if any laws or rights are under infringement or not.
Being a scholar of economies and philosophy, Rashid has contributed to society in several ways: through his out-of-the-box research, he has attempted to create social awareness regarding the unjust means and faults within the digital economy that have led to exploitation and economic downturn and, he has proved by his research and academic record that no matter where you are born, you can create a difference in society through your persistence, contribution, and hard work.
